Hello,

My name is Ehtesam and I am a doctor working in the Midlands. With a passion for medical and surgical education, I identified a significant gap in the teaching of suturing at an undergraduate level and I wanted to change that.

So I founded Suturing for Surgery (S4S™)

S4S is a resource that you can use asynchronously, at your own pace. It encompasses not only the practical aspect of this skill, but captures fundamental theory and etiquette which is often overlooked. S4S is probably the only place where we tie that all together.

With your essential S4S™ practise kit, you’ll receive an excellent grounding in suture and instrument theory before mastering the different techniques using our anatomical skin pad and surgical grade steel.

The educational theory which underpins S4S™ is derived from ‘Millers Pyramid of Clinical Competence’. This model has been adapted and applied to lots of surgical simulation-based training. We’re confident that S4S teaches you in the best way, in preparation for your surgical placements and beyond!

Suturing is an art, you just need practise.

S4S™ has been recognised by the University of Exeter Medical School, who have officially published the resource for their students and integrated it within their clinical skills curriculum.

S4S™ was invited to conduct the suturing workshops at the South West Emergency Surgery Conference held in April 2024. It was a great success.
